Police have confirmed that a pedestrian has died after being hit by a bus in the city.
Officers, accompanied by the fire and ambulance service, were called to Rose Lane shortly before 10pm last night, 8th August.
The victim, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene involving a double decker bus.
The road between junctions of Saint Vedast Street, Prince of Wales Road and Riverside Road was closed following the incident, but has now been reopened.
Police say no one on the bus was injured and they are keen to speak to any passengers who left the scene before talking.
